Highly Stable Handheld Fiber Optic Light Source
Toronto. Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com), a leading supplier of fiber optic instruments, has rolled out a highly stable handheld optical light source. The light source provides 1 to 4 optional output wavelengths including a 650nm red source, 1310/1550nm wavelengths for single mode fiber or 850/1300nm wavelengths for multi-mode fiber. It is designed for use in Telecom maintenance, CATV fiber optic lab testing and other areas where fiber optic measurements are required. Together with GAO's 3208 optical power meter, this optic light source forms a perfect solution for the characterization of fiber networks.
This handheld fiber optic light source, model 3109, features CW and 2Hz modulated frequency output at 650nm wavelength and CW, 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz at other wavelengths. It has the advantages of high output power stability, stable output wavelength, easy operation and a backlit LCD screen supporting operation in dark environments. The typical output power is -7dBm for LD and 20dBm for LED at a stability of ±0.05dB/15mins or ±0.1dB/8h. The compact optical light source boasts an auto-off function, allowing automatic shut off within 10min inactivity, which ensures up to 45 hours of continuous operation. FC and PC optical connectors are provided for selection.
