Owning, or even chartering a yacht is an extremely luxurious thing to do. People who go out to sea during summer months do it because they love being on the water. The tranquillity that comes from floating amidst an underworld we know so little about, but has more life living beneath it than above it. Here are a few ideas on the best times of year to go, the best places to visit and more.

1. Best times of year

While temperatures get hot during the Med's summer months, so does the nightlife! For the most lively yachting vacation, visit the Med during June, July, and August. Be warned however, that this is also the most expensive time of year to go. The season lasts until October, so if price is a concern try a late summer, early autumn trip. It's also a nice time to go if you want more peace than party.

2. Toys on board

In addition to being completely luxurious, yachting trips make the best holidays for another reason- they are so much fun! And I don't just mean at night, there is also a ton to do during the day. Most yachts have jet skis, water skis, wakeboards, kayaks, sail boats, bananas, and doghnuts on board. So if you have even the slightest amount of adventure in you, get ready to for a thrill. There's nothing better then getting tossed around by the sea.

3. Architects

Naval architecture is an engineering discipline focused on designing, constructing, and repairing marine vehicles. Yachts vary from classic styles to more modern. Everything from outside colours to interior design contributes to the way your yacht looks. Amongst the most well known naval architects are Sparkman & Stephens, Dubois, and Wally.

4. Popular destinations

No matter where you live in the world, there are wonderful yachting destinations nearby. People who reside in Europe might enjoy the Aeolian Islands in Italy, or visiting Croatia, while those living in the Americas would probably like to take a trip through the Caribbean, or parts of Central and South America. It also depends what you would like to do. For people looking to relax, visiting a place like Halong Bay in Vietnam would be ideal. Those looking to party and have fun might want to dock in Monaco during their annual Grand-Prix.

If you have the opportunity to set out to sea and discover unknown waters, hidden caves, and magical places then do it on a yacht!
